WE MOVE AS ONE - SUMMER CAMPAIGN

As athletes around the world prepared for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, we worked as Toyota’s digital agency-of-record to develop an integrated campaign around their sponsorship of Team USA. For the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, we created and launched the We Move As One content series.

At a time defined by COVID, the work focused on a simple idea: athletes may train alone, but they are never alone. Each story highlights the people behind the performance—the support systems that stay present, even at a distance.

We produced:

7 long-form films

100+ social assets

A mix of archive footage and newly shot hometown content

All films were directed by Oldie and rolled out across broadcast and social in the lead-up to and during the Games. Several spots aired during primetime on NBC and became among the most viewed and most praised during the Olympic period.

Alise Willoughby (directors cut)

A short film made for Toyota and Team USA in the run-up to the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Part of a series of athlete stories, this film focuses on Alise Willoughby. BMX racing is one of the most intense and unpredictable sports in the Olympics, and this film captures that energy up close.

We follow Alise as she prepares for Tokyo 2020—showing her power, focus, and the precision it takes to compete at the highest level.

The film is part of a wider campaign that highlights not just the athlete, but the environment and support system around them.

Daryl Homer (directors cut)

A short film made for Toyota and Team USA in the lead-up to the Tokyo Olympic Games.

We follow Daryl Homer, Olympic silver medalist in fencing, during his training in Harlem, New York. The film shows his preparation, focus, and daily routine as he works toward the Games.

We also see his longtime friend and sparring partner Khalil Anthony, highlighting the role of support and teamwork behind individual performance.

The story is part of a wider campaign that focuses on the people around the athlete—friends, family, and teammates—who all play a role in success.

Caeleb Dressel (directors cut)

A short film made for Toyota and Team USA in the lead-up to the Tokyo Olympic Games.

We follow Caeleb Dressel during his preparation for Tokyo 2020, filmed in his hometown of Gainesville, Florida. The film focuses on his mindset, routine, and the discipline behind his performance.

Rather than only showing results, the story captures the quiet, repetitive work that leads up to the moment on the world stage.

Part of a wider campaign, the film highlights not just the athlete, but the environment and support system around him.

This spot aired during primetime on NBC and became one of the most viewed and most praised commercials during the U.S. Olympic swimming trials in 2021.
